Mr. T.K.Patel and his family buy the canning plant originally established in 1936
1981 - A joint venture agreement is established with
a French company SAUPIQUET, to produce
canned French beans for the French market.
1982 - Hortiequip Ltd; a subsidiary of NCF is
created to supply French beans to the
factory,through 20,000 contracted farmers in
Vihiga district.
1990 - A new agreement is signed with French
company BONDUELLE after they take over
the vegetable section of SAUPIQUET.
1992 - Invests in a concentration plant to produce
juices and concentrates for the Local/Regional
market.
1996 - Invests in Vegetable freezing and dehydration plants to process vegetables for regional & export market.
1996 - Establishes a French bean growing project in
Litein under Hortiequip Ltd
1997 - The French bean plant is upgraded/
renovated to meet European standards.
1997 - Embarks on training and implementation of
HACCP Food Safety Management System.
1999 - Bonduelle stops working with NCF due to
their own investment in Cameroon &Zimbabwe.
2011 - Acquires / renews BRC (British Retail Consortium) Certification on Food Safety Management having passed with GRADE A
2012 - Undertaken supplies to United Nations
operations in Somalia, Congo Missions.
2013 - Spice factory gets ISO 22000-FSSC.
2015 - Canning plant gets ISO 22000-FSSC.
